Cariboo Gas to Liquids (GTL)
Cariboo LCF Ltd. plans to build, own and operate integrated clean fuel complexes that include a natural gas to clean fuels component. The facilities are strategically sited across Western Canada, to take advantage of available renewable power, natural gas supply and existing infrastructure to bring products to market. Cariboo is using established and proven technologies which will reduce risk while increasing speed to market.
The GTL process involves converting natural gas into petroleum products utilizing advanced Fischer-Tropsch technology, integrated with Methanol to Gasoline (MtG) technology to produce ultra-low-sulphur (“ULS”) diesel, jet fuel and unleaded gasoline products.
A clear benefit to producing fuel products (diesel, jet fuel, gasoline) from natural gas, versus crude oil, is a blending or replacement product with a signifcantly lower carbon intensity, devoid of sulphur thereby reducing GHG emissions.
Cariboo's projects offer cleaner fuels that reduce carbon intensity for industry and transportation and enable the energy transition.
